Last weekend, the National Speakers Association held its #Thrive Conference in Orlando. Hundreds of professional speakers gathered to learn business practices, stage presence, marketing and sales information and to be inspired from some of the best speakers in the world.
This year has been incredibly busy, and I had competing obligations for the weekend. When you feel behind or stressed, it’s tempting to pass on what you may want or need. However, as you know, if you want to grow, taking the time is necessary. You are the one who must prioritize investing the time and money in your personal and professional development.
❓When have you dealt with rearranging a full schedule to make time for yourself?
❓Where have you made a tough choice to invest in your personal or professional growth?
❓What positive or surprising results came from creating the space for you to learn and connect with your peers?
Yes, the work and housework were waiting to be dealt with on my return. That said, I watched my friends shine on stage, received valuable insights to move my business forward, and connected in a meaningful way with some of the smartest, most inspiring people on the planet.
Whether it is going back to college, applying for a certification, going to a conference, or starting a new health regimen, you are worth the time, money, and effort.
We only get one life. Negotiate with yourself to make the time. Take a calculated risk. Invest in you. Bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how that investment pays off. Promise.
Go Negotiate!
